We clean the image, not the character.
Handwriting often needs light preparation before engraving. We may remove paper texture, improve contrast or simplify tiny marks so the design works at the available size.
The goal is not to make it look computer-perfect. The goal is to preserve the quirks that made it personal in the first place.

We prepare it for engraving and confirm the final version, size and placement with you.

Once approved, the handwriting is engraved onto the selected suitable object.
Best source material
A clearer source gives us more to preserve.
Old notes are welcome. Perfect scans are not required. But a cleaner source usually gives us more freedom when preparing the engraving.
Photograph the writing straight-on where possible
Use bright, even light and avoid harsh shadows
Keep the full handwriting visible, not tightly cropped
A dark pen on light paper is easiest to work from
Scans are excellent if you already have one
Faded or damaged originals can still be assessed
