Frequently asked questions

Questions before something permanent happens.

Materials, approvals, handwriting, valuable objects, turnaround and more. Here are the questions we expect customers to ask most often.

Objects & materials

Can you engrave anything?

No. Material, coating, shape, accessibility and condition all affect whether an item is suitable. We assess each customer-supplied object before confirming the job.

How do I know if my item can be engraved?

Send clear photos of the whole object and a close-up of the area you want engraved. If you know the material, brand or model, include that too.

What materials do you work with?

Suitability varies by item, but selected metals, coated surfaces, leather, plastics and other materials may be engravable. We prefer to assess the actual object rather than promise by category alone.

Can you engrave curved or small surfaces?

Sometimes. Curvature, depth, available space and access can limit size or placement. We’ll recommend what looks practical for the specific object.

Customer-supplied items

Do I need to buy the object from you?

No. EngraveWala is service-first. You can bring or send an object you already own, provided it is suitable for engraving.

What happens when I give you a valuable item?

We may photograph the item at intake and note visible pre-existing marks. We also confirm the proposed engraving area before work begins.

Can you refuse an item?

Yes. If we cannot confidently assess the material, construction or surface, or if we believe engraving may damage the object, we may decline the job.

Design & approval

Can I engrave a name, date, initials or coordinates?

Yes, subject to available space and suitability. Shorter, simpler engraving usually offers more flexibility on small objects.

Can you engrave handwriting or signatures?

Yes, where the source image and engraving area are suitable. We may lightly prepare the handwriting so it reproduces more clearly while preserving its character.

Can you engrave logos or artwork?

Selected logos, line art and illustrations can be prepared for engraving. Very fine or complex artwork may need simplification depending on size and material.

Do I approve the design before engraving?

Yes. Placement, scale, spelling, dates and artwork should be checked carefully before approval because engraving is permanent.

What if I approve the wrong spelling?

Once the final spelling or artwork has been approved, we engrave from that approved version. That is why we ask you to check names, initials, dates and wording carefully.

Timing, pricing & projects

How much does engraving cost?

Pricing depends on the object, setup, material, artwork complexity, engraving area and whether details vary across multiple pieces. Send us the object and idea for a quote.

How long does engraving take?

Turnaround depends on the item and workload. Corporate or event projects also depend on quantity and deadline. We’ll confirm timing before you commit.

Do you offer bulk or corporate engraving?

Yes. We can assess corporate gifts, employee recognition, event pieces and selected variable-personalisation projects. Larger runs may require sample approval or staged production.

Do you offer live engraving at events?

Selected live or on-site engraving projects may be considered depending on the object, venue, quantity, timing and logistics.

Sending & collection

Can I send my item to you?

Yes, subject to prior confirmation. We recommend speaking to us first so we can assess suitability before you ship anything valuable.

Should I send the item before getting approval?

No. Start with photos and the engraving idea. We’ll tell you whether we need the item physically before confirming the job.

What should I send on WhatsApp?

Send clear photos of the object, a close-up of the engraving area, what you want engraved, approximate placement or size, and material or brand/model information if known.

Still unsure about your item?

Send us a photo and your engraving idea. We’ll tell you what we need next.
